Project Concept

The project involved the renovation of a dining hall within an RSL club housed in a historic building. The main objective was to create a comfortable and contemporary dining environment while preserving the classical architectural character of the original interior.

Architecture and Materials

The existing classical interiors were restored and refreshed with a refined colour palette. Slim contemporary ceiling and wall-mounted lighting fixtures were carefully integrated to complement the historic architecture without competing with its original features.

Particular attention was given to the food service area. Serving counters with glass display cases feature natural stone finishes, creating a sophisticated appearance suited to the character of the building.

Bolon woven vinyl flooring was selected for its textile-like texture, durability and ease of maintenance. Its colours and patterns complement the natural stone counters and contribute to a cohesive interior palette.

Spatial Planning and Comfort

Lightweight partitions made from slim metal profiles and frosted glass separate quieter, semi-private seating areas from the busier main dining hall. This arrangement provides privacy for conversations while maintaining the openness of the space.

Premium European furniture with upholstered seating and natural wood finishes adds warmth and comfort, creating an inviting atmosphere for dining and socialising.

Design Outcome

The design brings contemporary hospitality standards into a traditional RSL setting while respecting the building's historic character. Restored classical details, durable materials and carefully integrated modern elements create an elegant yet practical dining environment for members and guests.
